Hi! Thanks for taking the time to check this out! In this "blog" I put a lot of information about myself and it's a little more interesting than a typical "resume". Hope you find all the information that you need. If there is anything it is lacking that you would like to know, once you reach the bottom you will get my contact information.
My name is Gabrielle Lyons. I'm 24 years old. I've lived in Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach, NC my entire life and I absolutely love it. I'm a student at UNC-Wilmington, majoring in Child Psychology and minoring in Spanish. I'm First Aid/CPR certified in children, infants, and adults.
I have my own car, and a NC drivers license.
(You would think that was a given, haha but lots of people ask!)
I'm extremely outgoing and my friends call me Gabby! (and yes, I'm very talkative :) haha) I'm SUPER organized and a bit of a neat freak but that has honestly NEVER been complained about. I'm also good at multi-tasking but in an efficient manner.
I absolutely love children and animals. Big dogs are my favorite.
My hobbies include:
Traveling
My favorite places so far that I've been are Costa Rica & London!
This picture was taken in Tamarindo, Costa Rica.
Going to the beach and out on the boat.

I'm pretty sure I have salt water in my veins ;)
Working out
I go to CrossFit Wilmington.
These two pictures are me at CrossFit.
Running
A half marathon is the longest that I have run.
I have run 2 half marathons. A half marathon is 13.1 miles.
The picture below is at the end of my very first half marathon.

I don't eat dairy and eat a gluten free diet so I am comfortable and
experienced with any type of food allergies.

I love sports and could watch them all day long! I've been to tons of NCAA college basketball games. I went to the ACC tournament and NCAA tournament a couple of years ago and I've never had more fun!...and leisurely reading
A couple things about me...
I love fruits & veggies! I don't eat fast food.
I don't smoke & never have. I enjoy swimming & feel comfortable working with kids in the pool & at the beach.

We adopted a beach access at Wrightsville Beach and go down regularly to clean up! :)
I'm willing to do a drug test and/or background check, whichever. I did a background check through the Cape Fear Volunteer Center when I used to volunteer with the Big Buddy Program. My "Little Buddy" was 8 and so awesome!
Where I started :)
I have two younger sisters that are now 16(twins), named Brooke and Blair. I practically helped raise them (those of you that have younger siblings understand haha)!

Brooke was excited and telling my mother I was in her bed. :) She is autistic having epilepsy and cerebral palsy. At this time she has the mind of a 2 year old. She is my heart.
This is Blair, and she has ADHD so I have TONS of patience.
Previous Work:
I worked at The Dockside Restaurant (at Wrightsville Beach) for 4 1/2 years and as most of you know it is hectic in there, but it really taught me a lot. You have to deal with customers, and get them everything they want in the time they want it. So having good time management skills and multitasking is NOT an option.

Even while I worked at Dockside I continued to find other odd jobs on the side to keep me busy, because for some reason 40 hours wasn't enough. I like to stay busy, busy, busy! :)
For example:
Office Work/Filing for Mr. Hugh MacRae at The Oleander Company
Assistant Manager: Office & Clerical work at a Merle Norman Cosmetics storeMisc. dog sitting and house cleaning(I love organizing!)
...and also babysat for numerous families.
I was trying to make changes in my life cause everything seemed to be a routine, so I made the decision to take on the title of "nanny/babysitter" full time haha.
CurrentThe past 6 1/2 years I've been a nanny for a family of 4 children.
Picture below is the youngest 3! One had not gotten off the bus yet!
As you can tell, I've lost A LOT of weight since this picture ;) haha!I routinely go on field trips with the kids and volunteer in their classrooms to read or days they have parties. It's always fun!
I don't have an age/sex preference. I also don't have limitations on how many kids at a time.
"Nanny-type" positions:
I go past the normal "babysitter" role. A lot of moms refer to me as "mommy #2". I treat your child as if they were my own... and usually end up sad when parting with them at the end of my days.
I'm fine with doing: errands(dry cleaning/grocery store/Xmas/Bdays), laundry(wash, fold, put away, organize drawers/closets), dishes, honestly not a fan of floors haha... don't know what it is hehe... taking kids to practice(etc), tutoring(projects/reading AR etc).
Pet/house sitting when you're out of town... I LOVE animals!!!
Staying overnight/for a duration of time, traveling with the family... I have my passport and have tons of experience with staying overnight with children while the parents go on vacation and/or going on vacation with the whole family.
Honestly... I'll help you in any way I can to complete any task.
